Christmas Bird Count TIKAL 2006!
Am 14. Dezember 2006 wurde in Tikal der erste offizielle Audubon Christmas Bird Count durchgeführt, organisiert von CAYAYA BIRDING, WILDLIFE CONSERVATION SOCIETY Guatemala, TIKAL NATIONAL PARK, ORNITHOLOGICAL SOCIETY OF GUATEMALA, und Hotel JAGUAR INN Tikal. Die Vogelzählung wird nun jährlich in Tikal stattfinden. Cayaya Birding wird auch 2007 eine Vogelbeobachtungstour anbieten, die diese Weihnachtszählung beinhaltet.

monitoring Chelemhá NEUES VON DEN PROJEKTEN DIE WIR UNTERSTÜTZEN

PROEVAL RAXMU Vogelmonitoring-Programm
Zur Zeit werden drei Q’eqchi’ Bauern aus Chelemhá ausgebildet für Vogelzählungen im Nebelwald der Naturschutzgebiete Chelemhá und K’anti Shul.

Die Website des Naturschutzgebietes Chelemhá wurde um Informationen zur Vogelbeobachtung ergänzt, inkl. endemische Arten welche vom Balkon der Maya Cloud Forest Lodge beobachtet werden können.

Der Runde Tisch für Birding in Guatemala (Mesa de Aviturismo) hat das II. Internationale Birding Treffen in Guatemala organisiert, welches vom 26. Februar bis 2.März 2006 in Retalhuleu stattfand.
